I had a bit of a love affair with leopard a few years back, but eventually grew tired of the print and have mostly avoided it since. (With the exception of my leopard coat, which, despite Carter labeling it my “pimp jacket”, is still my go-to statement coat in winter.) But something about this leopard dress really struck me and I had to have it. It was a splurge for a casual dress, no doubt, but a steal for an Equipment piece. I don’t know how familiar you are with Equipment – but in my mind, they’re pretty much the gold standard when it comes to 100% silk, great design, and fit. I’ve snagged a few of their pieces over the years (always on sale), and they are all still in perfect condition thanks to their wonderful construction and timeless style.
I wore this outfit last week to a First Thursday dinner outing in the Pearl District with my in-laws, but I know it’ll translate just as well for a smart-casual event or workplace (perhaps with more conservative shoes).
